Vanilla Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 part sugar
  • 1 part piping-hot water
  • 1.5 teaspoons of vanilla paste per 200g of sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a container.

  2. Stir until the sugar and vanilla paste have dissolved.

  3. Pour into a sterilized container.

Keep refrigerated.

Hints

  1. Vanilla paste is a blend of concentrated vanilla extract and pulverized vanilla beans. While it's called a "paste" it's actually fairly liquid.

  2. Stay away from vanilla pastes that say they’ve added “Natural Flavors” or “Natural Essences”.

  3. Depending on the quality of your vanilla paste, consider adding more of it to punch up the flavor.
