  • 22.5ml rye whiskey
  • 22.5ml Yellow Chartreuse
  • 22.5ml Bénédictine
  • 22.5ml lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

  2. Shake until chilled.

  3. Strain into a coupe.

  4. Twist a lemon peel over the drink to express the essential oils and garnish with the twist.

  2. This cocktail won Bénédictine’s 500th Anniversary Cocktail Competition in 2010. Cocktail historian David Wondrich was a judge at the event. Guest were also invited to vote.

  3. Monte Cassino is a hill southeast of Rome, Italy. On top of the hill sits a monastery where St. Benedict of Nursia established the Benedictine order in 529.
