Ingredients

  • 30ml Jamaican aged rum
  • 30ml Cuban aged rum
  • 15ml falernum
  • 15ml triple sec
  • 22.5ml lime juice
  • 7.5ml simple syrup
  • 1 - 2 cardamom pods

Instructions

  1. Take the cardamom seeds out of the pod and add them to a pan.

  2. Roast seeds in low-medium heat until fragrant; 15-30 seconds.

  3. Add seeds to a shaker and muddle.

  4. Add rest of the ingredients to the shaker, and add ice.

  5. Shake until chilled.

  6. Strain into a coupe.

  7. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Hints

  1. Cardamom seeds can burn easily! They won't need much time on the pan before you pick up their fragrance.

  2. You could try making cardamom simple syrup to avoid the first step, but do note that the cardamom notes won't be as prominent.
