Trivia

  1. Although called the same way, the version published in 1934’s Pioneers of Mixing at Elite Bars: 1903-1933 is different from today’s Cosmopolitan.

  2. Pioneer’s of Mixing at Elite Bars: 1903-1933 is a compilation of recipes. These recipes were published in seven volumes by Charles Christopher Mueller, with help from bartenders Al Hoppe, A V Guzman and James Cunningham.

  3. This recipe is listed in the book as being an example of a daisy. However, we usually think of the daisy as a type of cocktail that uses a liqueur instead of syrup.

  4. This cocktail is awfully similar to a Clover Club, which was created before 1901.
